THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE (1983)
A GILBERT & SULLIVAN CLASSIC!

Frederic was, as a child, apprenticed to a band of
tenderhearted, orphaned pirates by his nurse who,
being hard of hearing, had mistaken her master's
instructions to apprentice the boy to a pilot.

Frederic, upon completing his 21st year, rejoices
that he has fulfilled his indentures and is now free
to return to respectable society. But it turns out
that he was born on February 29, Leap Year Day,
and he remains apprenticed to the pirates until his
21st *birthday* (when he's 84!).

This is an excellent cast who portray Gilbert and
Sullivan's words with great talent and humor. It is
such a fun movie. The kind you want to watch
more than once.
There are several versions of this
delightful opera, but this one beats them all!

Kevin Kline .... The Pirate King
Angela Lansbury .... Ruth
Linda Ronstadt .... Mabel
George Rose .... Major-General Stanley
Rex Smith .... Frederic
Tony Azito .... Sergeant

LEAP YEAR starring FATTY ARBUCKLE (1921)

This is one of the only existing feature films by the silent
comedian Fatty Arbuckle. In the 1910's through 1920's,
Arbuckle alone rivaled Charlie Chaplin at the box office.

In Leap Year, Fatty Arbuckle exhibits all of the amazing
comic talents that made him a tour de force at the Mack
Sennett Studios and which lead him to fame as an independent
comedy producer of his own features. Arbuckle is a comedian,
acrobat, juggler, and stuntman all in one gigantic pair of size-60
clown pants.

Only a handful of Arbuckle features have survived. This is one of them.
