FRED SPURGIN

"Gentlemen,
I propose--"
We're only trying
to get at you!
Take care you
don't fall in!
The British artist Fred Spurgin did a series of
Leap Year cards in 1912. As artist-signed cards,
they tend to fetch a higher price.
You're the man
we want.
She's only a
maiden--after all.
Ladies in waiting.

"I've come to ask for the hand of your son."

"Am waiting for a ring."

Will this do for you?

Do you take me?

There's no getting away from it.

This is so sudden!
The only man safe this year.
