Julius Bien

I'm so glad this is Leap Year
I'm looking for a hubby.
Won't you be mine.

Many Leap Year cards were designed
to horrify the recipient with the thought
that he could be pursued, and captured,
by an ugly old maid.
In the case of the card at left, the artist
has chosen to use a racist stereotype
to titillate his audience.
This publishing company was based in
New York City.

Back of card.

You can see it's Leap Year,
For unless he is a chump,
When he spends her money,
The bridegroom's going to jump
